Horary astrology uses the language of the planets and stars to interpret the Cosmic or Divine Mind (or the Will of God depending on your belief system).
The assumption behind horary astrology is that everything in the universe is interconnected and that the horoscope for the question also contains the answer to the question.
In ancient times when horary was the dominant type of astrology the astrologer’s job was to interpret the answer to a question using the horoscope for the time when the question was asked.
Horary astrology has a number of advantages over natal astrology for the practicing astrologer :
- No accurate time of birth is necessary. The horoscope is set up for the moment when the astrologer understands the client’s question.
- When birth times are uncertain or unavailable the ability to read a horary chart is indispensable. Rectification is time consuming and the accuracy of the rectified chart is always uncertain.
- The horoscope has only one focus: the question. There is no need to unravel the complexities of the natal chart, solar return, progressed or other derived charts.
- Most clients have 1 or 2 main concerns and are seeking clear answers.
Horary astrology provides clear accurate and practical answers. - Questions can be answered on almost any subject.
Horary astrology is the ideal beginning point for all astrological studies as it provides a grounding in ‘first principles’ which are the essential components so often missing in modern astrology.
For beginning students horary is the ideal introduction for electional and natal astrology.
For experienced astrologers a knowledge of horary adds precision and clarity to natal readings and relationship issues.
